Despite pressing the button a couple times, I've been experiencing problems with the charge port door not opening. At first, it operated without any issues, but occasionally, even with the button inside the car, it simply won't open. Perhaps related to this was a software upgrade that was taking place at the same time. In this situation, the emergency access only disconnects a jammed J1772 handle, not the door, and the handbook makes no indication of what to do. Is there anyone who has encountered this? What advice would you give?

I usually just hook a finger under the bottom corner of the door and yank it open when the car's unlocked. Never really cared to figure out the whole secret trick it wants me to do to open it the right way – this method works just fine for me!

I might try that next time, though I’m a bit cautious about causing damage. It’s strange that there isn’t a clear backup method in the handbook for this issue

To open the charging port on my EV6, I just press the unlock button on the key fob. I don't have to unlock the car first. You might be able to do the same thing with your EV9.
