New EV9 Owner Hearing Rear Taps

New EV9 owner here, just picked mine up two days ago, and I’m loving it so far. However, I noticed an occasional tapping sound coming from the rear, and it reminds me a lot of the sound that some EV6 owners have talked about – the one linked to those pressure flaps.

For anyone who’s had both models, or even just has experience with the EV9, have you noticed any similar tapping noises from the back? I’m trying to figure out if it’s the same issue or maybe just something simple like a seatbelt moving around back there. It’s not constant, but it’s noticeable enough that I wanted to ask.

Kia appears to have not addressed the EV6's issues, such as the ICCU and charging. So it's not surprising that the EV9 may have similar issues...

It could be from pressure flaps or seatbelts. You can check those

Could be hatch rattles. Try to pull the rear panel off just to check.

Congrats on the EV9! I heard a couple of light taps too, but later figured out it was the charge port doors and door handles closing when I drove off. As for the tapping in your car, sounds like a classic case of "EV mystery noises" happens to the best of us. It could be the pressure flaps, but also worth checking if a seatbelt or something else is just having a little party back there. If it’s not constant, it's probably nothing major, but hey, it never hurts to investigate. Keep us posted on the sound saga!
